2014, the year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac, is coming to an end. I wanted to celebrate the horse because it so accurately represents my personality. I was born in 1978, the year of the horse, and people born in this year are clever, kind to others, and love to talk, sometimes too much. They are cheerful, perceptive, talented, and stubborn.
Horse people cannot bear to be constrained. They are described as “hot blooded about everything other than their daily work.” I’ve definitely been told that I am obsessive about my work, I believe this is why I am an artist. Horses are independent and rarely listen to advice. They tend to interfere in many things and frequently fail to finish projects of their own. This is all true in my case, I have big ideas, I love to start things, but others usually must finish because I love moving on to the next big idea.
This 2-color serigraph is called “Caballito Uno” (Little Horse #1) and is handprinted on white card stock paper that measures 12 x 18 inches. The print is a limited edition of 40 prints, all signed and numbered by me, the artist.
This print is first in a series of 3.
